This is a brilliant re-imagining of Tokyo's intricate railway system by Korean designer Zero per Zero who won the communication design award for this series of railway maps for various cities all around the world .
According to Zero Per Zero, the subway and railway line map is the symbol of city. In their series of railway system maps, the Seoul-based design firm manages to cover all of the basics (stations, important landmarks, etc.), but also focuses on the major characters of the cities, e.g. famous sights, buildings and landmarks. In addition, they manage to incorporate the Japanese flag in their display of Tokyo. In other words, while these maps might serve a practical purpose, they’d also look good hanging on your apartment’s walls.
