We've collected all the important information needed to learn and remember kanji into a handy flashcard format that makes your drilling sessions more efficient than ever. Our Japanese Kanji Flashcards set is used by thousands of students in more than 100 countries in the world. For this reason, White Rabbit Press flashcards became a best-seller on Amazon.

More about Japanese Kanji Flashcards, Series 3 Volume 1:

  • Learn useful vocabulary: Each card includes 6 vocabulary words including commonly used kanji compounds.
  • Get JLPT N5 and N4: This Japanese Kanji Flashcard box includes 300 beginner-level joyo kanji suitable for people who are studying for JLPT.
  • Kun'yomi and On'yomi: Each card includes all the reading of a kanji.
  • Easy and fun to use - perfect for study and drilling
  • No romaji: We only use kana and kanji when we transcribe a Japanese word.
  • Stroke-by-stroke diagrams: Learn how to write each Japanese kanji by checking our step-by-step diagrams.
  • Kanji radicals: Remembering kanji has never been easier than by breaking them down into characters that are easier to memorize.
  • Look-alike kanji: You will never be fooled by similar kanji again. Our look-alike kanji feature helps you look out for confusingly similar kanji.

White Rabbit Press flashcards include more vocabulary than other publishers' cards because the essence of a kanji is best grasped by understanding the meanings it forms when combined with other characters.

We don't use romaji, but only kana scripts, to show how to read kanji. All our definitions in English are precise and clear, so you will save time learning kanji because you will not have to reach for a dictionary to get the correct meaning of a character.

WHAT'S NEW IN SERIES 3?

With Series 3 we've reordered the kanji cards based on frequency analysis of a large corpus of Japanese text (taken from newspapers, novels, and the web.) The most commonly used kanji is the most useful kanji to know, and that's the first kanji characters you'll learn.

PREPARE FOR THE JLPT

The official lists of kanji for the new JLPT levels N1 ~ N5 have not be made public, however, as these are the 300 basic kanji they provide preparation for JLPT Levels N4 and N5.

RELATIONSHIP WITH SERIES 2

If you purchased Japanese Kanji Flashcards, Series 2, Volume 1, you can safely purchase Series 3 Volume 2 and 3 without any problems.

However, if you've purchased both Series 2 Volume 1 and Volume 2, you have a choice:

  • If you purchase Series 2, Vol. 3 you'll be missing 196 new cards which were added to the end of Series 3 Vol. 3
  • If you purchase Series 3, Vol. 3 you'll be missing 150 cards as we've redistributed some cards between volumes 2 and 3.

If you already own Series 2 Volumes 1 AND 2 then we recommend purchasing Series 2 Volume 3, since the additional kanji added to the end of Series 3 are the least important kanji.
