Welcome to White Rabbit Japan!
The FU-TO Pen case is “just the right size for carrying things around,” according its designers, the Tokyo based stationary company Yururiku. It’s about the size of an average envelope and although it’s called the “Pen Case”, Yururiku says “it’s for little everyday things,” like glasses, pens or pencils.
The case has been hand crafted in the “old part” of Tokyo by local artisans who have dyed the canvas with vegetable based tannin and carefully washed the final product to soften the fabric. The outer canvas layer is then carefully sewn to a cotton liner, to protect whatever’s inside it. The motto of the brand is “take it easy” and the production seems to have followed that mantra; as the website says even the sewing of the pen case was done “very slowly.”
