  • Question Examples - As the name suggests, the first segment of this book introduces the different types of questions you will learn to master. To give you the best possible preperation for the JLPT N3, this book contains the same 5 types of questions as the JLPT itself.
  • Becoming used to distinctive sounds - Sometimes it is hard to distinguish similar sounds. The small っ and ゃ, ゅ and ょ are some examples of sounds that can easily be misheard. But remember that going to the びよういん and going to the びょういん are completely different!  This chapter teaches you techniques useful to reduce misheard words like listening to accents and intonation.
  • Verbal expression skills training - This chapter teaches you the importance of context. Even if you misheard or didn't understand a word, ideally the context it was said in tells you the meaning. While this may sound hard at first, there are techniques that help you improve comprehend context better.
  • Quick response skills training - Conversation includes both listening and speaking. This chapter is about practicing speed. After you listen to somebody talking, your brain takes time to process the information. Ideally, it only takes a fraction of a second to process all the information, so you can answer right away. This chapter teaches you how to process information and respond to it faster.
  • Task-based comprehension skills training - You will learn how to process information from longer segments in this chapter. Listening to and understanding a whole conversation, not just a sentence, can be tough, especially if you have to find the solution to the problem presented yourself.
  • Key point comprehension skills training - Sometimes it is enough to understand the key point a sentence or conversation is about. It is not always necessary to understand every single words. This chapter teaches you techniques to better understand how to find the relevant information.
  • General outline comprehension skills training - Lastly, this chapter teaches not just what a person is saying, but what their intention is. Words and meanings don't always match, the word "ok" generally has a positive meaning, but can also be used in a negative or refusing way by saying "it's ok". Obviously, catching the right meaning of a word is important, which is why this chapter is included in the book.
  • Mock test - After you mastered all the different techniques introduced in this book, it is time to see how you would do in the real exam. The mock test uses questions very similar to those in the actual JLPT N3 to add another layer of preparation for you.
