Welcome to White Rabbit Japan!
“Taking Japanese for Granted – Rediscovering the Japanese Language“ is a unique collection of stories illustrated in anime form which discusses the common misgivings of the Japanese language in recent years, misgivings made by Japanese natives no less. This book was wildly popular in Japan and was picked up by local magazines and TV programs for it’s playful humor in pointing out the major pot holes in our daily conversational misuses.
There are many things to be gained from this book other than the Japanese language aspect; other topics include Japanese customs, history of the Japanese language, and more. Even expressions that maybe difficult for beginners to grasp are easily explained thanks to the accompanied illustrations - so Japanese learners of all levels can enjoy. There is no English translation available, however most segments include Japanese readings of kanji, so as long as you know hiragana you should be fine.
